January 2010

I just wanted to update you on our competition that took place Saturday at East Cary Middle. All of our participants did an awesome job! We represented CCMMS very well. Please give congratulations to all of our participants for competing in their event. It is not an easy task to get up in front of 3-4 judges in a room all by yourself without being nervous.

The following students are those who placed at the regional event.

Business Math
Maggie Cobb 1st place
Eddie Munk 2nd place

Public Speaking (Centennial swept this event, AWESOME)
Austin Meyrick 1st place
Ajani Purnell 2nd place
Jocelyn Richardson 3rd place

Please be sure to congratulate those who placed in these events. Mrs. Price and I are very proud of everyone who competed in today's event.

Please be sure to send in EXTRA large hershey bars in as soon as possible for our upcoming candy gram sale. Students can give them to me in the morning or afternoon.

Thanks for your support of all FBLA members. I truly am proud to be leading such a great bunch of students. I am learning as I go but it is so much easier with such a fine group of young leaders!!!

  • Thank You to all of the parents for the generous donations, getting your forms in on time, and the support at the carwash.
  • We raised over $400!  I have several buckets left, if you need yours back, please let me know and describe it in the email.
  • The teacher "TLC" baskets turned out awesome!  Our 8th graders distributed the baskets to the front office, cafeteria staff/custodial staff, and teachers.  You'd be surprised how much it is appreciated!
  • Great job to the new members of the "run club" from FBLA!    The kids are doing super. It's great to see them being active!  Please encourage your child to participate on Tuesday or Thursday.  They need a WCPSS intramural form to participate, but it's good for the whole year.
  • If you are a parent of a new member, they are participating in the Raleigh Parks and Rec leadership course next Thursday and MUST have their permission form turned in asap.
